Good question, I've often wondered about this too, and what about cows -- how do they get so big just eating grass?

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Elephants aren't fat. they are big animals. That doesn't make them fat.
Lots of animals that "graze" are large. Giraffes, rhinos, hippopotamus, are just a few examples. Their stomachs are designed to collect every scrap of nutrition from the leaves and grass they eat, and size is a defense against getting eaten by lions.

Elephants are NOT fat .. its just that they havea bigger body size and mass... Blue whales are 30 times bigger and they eat just plankton which are microscopic ..
If you are counting in terms of mass.. there are lots of animals bigger than humans which survive on plants... and all herbivores have the capability to digest cellulose ... this is the cell walls of plant cells .. which will be passed out of our intestines as it is ..... so they can digest plants and vegetables better than us...

Nature tends to be more complex than the human representation of it might seem. In reality, so called carnivores tend to eat some (and somtimes much) plant material, and supposed herbivores may well enjoy bits of meat. That's normality.
