Can you catch someone's eye through a mirror?

You know that feeling you get when you catch someones eye? Can that happen through a mirror?

If two people look into a mirror and focus on the image of the others eye they will be 'looking' at each other. Here's looking at you, kid (Humphrey Bogart?).
