It is acoustic, c. 40-50 years old with two 'f' holes (no central sound hole).

A badge on the head reads 'The Michigan', followed by 'B & S.L sole agents- made in the USA'

Any ideas? Thanks!

However that because of its provenance. I know somebody else who owns one and I would not value it at more than £30 which is what he paid for it and then got all excited when i told him that the only other one of those I had ever seen had sold for 300 grand lol

Looking at my reference materials, my best guess is that it is made by Harmony or Valco in the late 50s/early 60s.

There were a number of US manufacturers that made guitars for a multitude of retailers under different names so it is going to be difficult to pin down your guitar precisely. However, if memory serves me right only one company- Harmony- used metal badges on the headstock.

I would suggest that you take some good detail pictures (closeups of the front and back of the body, closeup of the headstock) and post them here or email them to me at mirageguitarworks@yahoo.com and I think I can track down more info.

Harmony instruments vary wildly in price from less than $10 to over $4000 with most falling in the $100 or less range.
