Getting all metaphorical on us Markyyy? I guess it's because they feel that their book is sufficient and complete in itself. That unlike stamps, which are diverse, but of equal standing, that their book holds something that they call 'the truth'. Sorry. I guess that should be 'Truth'. And that all other versions are just poor reflections or imitations of 'the one'. Hence they have stopped looking for other povs. They have, to their minds, the very first Penny Black off the print line. Why would they want any copies, when they believe they have the original? There's metaphorical back at ya! .
