A bit naughty that question don't you think.
Though I see not everyone is getting it.
Best question of the day.
I think they should give bonus points for it.
(If you want an honest answer though I would say most people like a helping hand with it.)

Wow do i just enjoy myself or what.If there is a job that needs doing ie redecorating a room, first i plan it all in my head, then i buy what i need, some times i ask if not quite sure. But the best thing is doing it.I always take a "before and after"pic, followed by the end part when you go around checking that everything is finished, what a buzz. Then i like to sit back with a cup of my best coffee and gloat "is this good or what".As i am on my own, i think myself that i do it qute well, and therefore i really enjoy.

If it's a job I can get done in a day, then it's pretty satisfying.

If it's something that I'll need an interpreter or cryptologist to work out the instructions for, then it's just frustrating - especially the IKEA picture diagrams: I mean a few words wouldn't go amiss!

I don't generally enjoy the mess and tidying up, so I try to do it a little and often rather than doing a D.I.Y blitz every holiday.

I love it because it gives me something I can look at and think - "I made that". And if I really did it well and in a unique way I can listen to other people saying how great it came out so there is an ego boost built in too.

Of course DIY also includes fixing leaky faucets or pulling weeds and the only joy there is I am not spending my money on paying someone for that junk work so I have more for leisure.

I enjoy it when I don't feel like I had to do a half-a*s job just to get through with it. IT is so frustrating when you just want the friggin caulk to dry already so you can finish painting!!!

I end up wasting a whole day getting no where and paying out more money in blood pressure medication and psychiatric visits then if I had just called a handyman.

DIY is beautiful, in theory.

It depends to the meaning you are trying to figure out.

If "do it yourself" means simple house chores or some minor trouble shooting I definitely love it and enjoy it very much.

But if "do it yourself" means you will do "something" for your own self satisfaction it's sometimes not good enough. I hope you got what i mean.

I enjoy doing projects myself. If I decide to change something I am not paying a contractor for my changes and I can normally return any unused materials faster then someon I hire. Also form past experienece, I have run across not so honest contractors that inflate the price of the materials if they supply

I'm not sure anyone really enjoys DIY, it is more something we begrudgingly do (often with a smile on our faces) because we know it would cost a fortune to get someone else to do it! Besides, it adds character when your shelves are wonky and the door handles fall off :)

i would say a lot. it's like my fondness for japanese food...first i was too scared to try it, but they keep serving it...it's an acquired taste...so if there's always no one else to do the job, and i always have to resort to "doing it myself"...i might as well enjoy it.

btw, remind me to show you the the multiple rack i built right on the spot.

It depends. I've had lots of creative ideas, but the results were not always what I expected. That is when I get angry and just destroy the project and figure I will have to save to have a professional do it.
