Something elegant, not too short, not too long. Keep your makeup basic - lipstick, mascara, concealer for any of those annoying spots. Maybe a little blush or liner to the top lid of the eye. Nice shoes always make the look. And I'd wear your hair up away from your face with wispy tendrils. You're young though, so I'm sure whatever you do you'll look fabulous. Have a great time!!

Choosing the proper prom dress for your body type is important if you want to look your best at prom. All prom dresses can be nice but putting the right prom dress on the right body type can make a nice dress fabulous.
Steps
Determine your body type. Are you pear shaped with a larger bottom and a smaller top? Are you shaped like a light bulb with a larger top and a smaller bottom? Or do you have an hour glass figure with an even top and bottom?
If you are pear shaped, look for heavier bead work or fringe on the top of the dress. To hide the hips, look for dresses that have overlays to hide the hips. Ball gowns and a-line dress with no definite waistline are good choices.
If you are top heavy, look for slimmer smoother fitting dresses in the hip area. Flattering v-necks or those necklines with a little more material closer to the neckline are good for your body type.
If you have a hour glass figure congratulations, you will look great in everything! Have at it!
Tips
Always order your prom dress early. Many prom manufacturers sell out the closer they get to prom season. It takes time to find the right dress, once you do, you don't want to find out it's not in stock.
Bargain shop for dresses in late May, early summer the year before you go to Prom. This is when you will get the best deals. (60% to 80% off!!)

In my opionion, prom dresses should not be so sexy that they are considered sleezy. I've been to many grand marches (where they walk across a stage being introduced be4 prom) and some of the dresses I've seen look more like cocktail dresses, not prom dresses. Don't get one that shows your midsection, that is just not right for a prom dress. The hemlines that are cute and flirty are the feather-like hems that come just at the knee, very nice!!!

I find that simple halter style dress that flows away from the body looks great....If you have long hair, wear it wavy, I wouldn't wear a hat, maybe a flower or something but no hat....Drink alot of water leading up to the prom, this will help you skin look hydrated....Get a cream blush with a little shimmer in it, and the same for your eye's something with a little shimmer...Don't over do the makeup, you'll be dancing all night and you don't want a melt down....as for the shoes, wear a strappy sandal, maybe something that ties around you ankle.....Anyway have fun, oh spray a little perfume in your hair, that way when you are slow dancing with your date he will smell the perfume in your hair....anyway have fun, oh and keep some Altoids in your purse....

Don't wear anything 2 revealing...wear a halter neck dress. Simply make your hair in cute elegant curls(trust me u could dance all night without ruining the curls) and wear natural looking makeup that matches your skin tone (nothing 2 clowny). Remember simple is always elegant.

okay so try a flarery dress wich has a v neck and is either hgalter neck or sleeveless. it shud be up to knee lenght not lower or higher. for hat try a brai or any other french hat with the front stcking out...a matching scarf wud look gud answell wit it and long earing!!!! NICE!!!!

Use glitters on your face and in your hair. Any amount you want. Glitters is the best thing for homecoming & proms.
