"I Drove All Night" was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly for Roy Orbison. Orbison first recorded the song in 1987, but his rendition was not released until 1992. The song was subsequently a hit for Cyndi Lauper (1989), Pinmonkey (2002), and Céline Dion (2003) Therefore I say Cyndi.

I believe Roy Orbison recorded it first but Cyndi Lauper was the first to have a hit with it in 1989. Roy's version was a hit in1992.
