I disagree.
The Internet was created to hold vast information that you can search for and download for educational purposes. It was also created as a means to transact business in an easy way or to what they call electronically(document-free/paper-free transaction).
This means that Internet does not at all provide a place where cheating can be done easily.
On the other hand, the Internet itself(all its content) can be a potential place where cheating could be easily done. Like, for example as the other answerer have mentioned. In business transactions, there are the possibility that you may have just paid for a service like your water bill for a couple of hundred dollar bills. Then, you would only learn later that your account is a thousand dollar short. Internet(tically) mysterious, isn't it?

I disagree with you that internet is a cheating process. Internet can be used in either way. The main thing which is of paramount importance is the judgment. If you meet a woman on net. she is making false statements about her life structure, it is for you to understand weat her she is true or she speaking lie. The same princple can be applied vice versa. It is therefore not justified to blame the internet that it is a cheating process in communication. On the other hand it is the most effective media to come in contacts with other persons living at a quite distant countries. You can also discuss with other persons so easily and quickly which is most creditable to internet.

Yes I agree, but there are also so many geniune people who help by way of advise.
I also was cheated by people using my credit card number for more transactions than the one that I had bought. I have so far blocked 2 credit cards, for fear that they may be further repeated.
Inspite of all this, I still feel that the internet is a gift to modern people, to get opinion and help from far away places. The fact that I can interact with people thousands of miles away is itself a miracle.

I definitely agree. its so much easier to pretend via the internet. A person may be married and tell someone that they chat with they are not.. Its really hard to verify these things unless you know the people outside of cyperspace or you have solid facts to check.

A fool can be cheated anywhere, anyhow and as many times as one can... Internet just a media for communication and not the reason.
Why does one has to believe what other says on the net. A cheater always searches for an opportunity anywhere. Internet is one of his opportunity areas. He searches for a "Bakra" and then just go for it. It's all upto us to be cautious while we make any acquintances on the net.

I personally haven't been cheated out of possessions or property on the internet. But, I believe I have talked to a few people who were deceptive about who they were. I am inclined to say that if there is deception there is a possibility of cheating.

well..yes.
but listen to this..in this world, there will be no cheaters if one will be cautious not to be cheated...
secondly, if you base the word cheating on a realtionship, honestly, if you have a common sense you'd realize that the internet is not a very good site for budding relationship because anyone can assume a fake identity..
this is where freedom of speech reigns, because you can say all you want under a code name and no one will know who yOU are...

Disagree.
The internet doesn't cause people to do what people have been doing on their own for years. It just broadens their scope.
Don't blame the media, the movies, or the internet for human failings. You are in charge of what you do. If you give in to temptation, it's your fault, not the fault of the tool you used.
