Ive suffered with panic attacks and now ive come off my anti depressants (citalopram) thing is now my mind is trying to make me think im an homosexual and I keep getting thoughts about guys, but my feelings remain for girls, I don’t know what to do and I do think its to do with panicking or maybe coming off the tablets because I love women, maybe too much and when I get in a worry state my mind trys to make me think the opposite, so my question is could this be to do with coming off the citalopram? I know im not gay but I fear that my mind WILL convince me and I’ll end up not liking women and im aware this is a stupid problem, also I am 19 but since the age of 6 ive always been attracted to women and some people say im just suppressing my homosexuality but that doesn’t feel me, anybody help?

that is okay... you choose... you control your mind... you control your thoughts.. you control your habits... you control everything about yourself... if the mind gives you thoughts on the extreme... just say... nice idea! but I don't like it... do that and you will be okay...
think!
feel!
do!
as you want to... be in alignment with yourself...
you choose it... you want only one... stick with it... with integrity...
be a man! in the real sense of the word... you'll find that out.

"some people say im just suppressing my homosexuality" May I suggest that you learn to say "mind your own business" or something comparable?

First off six-year-olds don't think about sex...I was a child once and hubby and I have six adult son/daughter so I am stating this from life experience which you can take or leave. Second, between television and the control issues people have in society today it's doing nothing but causing people to be confused who are not grounded. As parents we get disgusted by the agendas out there today that prey on young adults.

According to the info in your question you are 19 years old...this is a time for goals. The biggest challenge for young people today is to stay focused on chosen goals. Are people around you being supportive of your goals...if not request support. This may sound strange but give yourself a break and begin to find your way before someone else finds it for you and lures you into stunting your own growth.

I don't know anything about the pill you are taking but have heard that when stopping some medications a person should wean themselves off as directed. Give the pharmacist a call.

Determine within yourself what it right for you. Look at every angle you can using your faith, beliefs and teachings from your parents and peers. When you've come to your conclusion, convince yourself that this is what you want no matter what.

The episodes of anxiety around this subject will deminish because you already know the answert and the end result.

Try writing your thoughts down on a piece of paper and compare the pros and cons at the end

Your thoughts are your thoughts and not a withdrawl symptom of Citalopram however the medication may have impacted on your anxiety levels.

I commend your choice to do without the medication but focus on your reasons and dont be afraid to seek further treatment
