I guess it depends who you talk to. There's people I know that I consider to be rich but they don't consider themselves to be. To them a rich person is someone with a lot more money than they have.

To the average middle class person, about a few hundred thousand dollars. To the rich , it would have to be in the tens of millions, because guys like Bill Gates are in the billions.

Using money as a measure of Rich is a funny game that will get a lot of people saying you measure life in other ways.

To me, rich is having the freedom to take any decision without having to refer to how much money each outcome costs.

think about it, its liberating.

take any decision -- car, house, holiday, job, location, what to do next year, for 10 years, etc... And imagine being able to make that decision without ever thinking about how much money it costs. Thats the definition of Rich.

the people who get the most from lots of money are those that use it to give themselves freedom

You are poor when you have money but cannot enjoy it, no matter how big the amount is. You are rich on the other hand, if you could give as much as you would want and still enjoy life.

If you've got enough money on you and you wouldn't feel too put off if you burnt some of that money, then you're rich enough (though I heard it is illegal to burn money in England cos it's got the Queen's head and all that).

One of my wealthy friends (jokingly) said to me---- David, do you know what I would do if I won the lottery. I said no, what? He said, Put it in the bank with the rest and carry on as I am. That is when you are rich.
