I Gateway computer at a yard sell and the people said the didnt now the password or user name. So what im asking is is there a reset button that i can push to put my user name and own password in so i can at least login into my computer?

This user name and password is for bios or the operating system??
If it is for the bios,, you have only to open the case,, remove the battery from its place,, wait for 5 minutes then ,,reinsert it again,, this will reset the bios and remove the password,,, if it is for the operating system,, I thin it is better to format and reinstall it again,,to do clean install

Depending on the OS you have, you can skip the password in Windows 95/98 by clicking on cancel when that box asking for it pops up. Butthis does notlet you change the password.

well if you are gonna buy the pc dont worry about re-setting the password or anything. just format and install a fresh version of xp.
