I dont think that you will be able to do it from where you are without first having installed a program on both machines such as pc anywhere or go to my pc. For next time you could always try https://www.gotomypc.com/en_US/entry.tmpl?_sid=175967187%3AE8B46F67EF66A21&Action=rgoto&_sf=2

I dont think so...but to access the system, it should be in shared mode. Did you share your system before leaving there? If not you can't access it....

Better option is; tell to family members to email you the req stuff.

If both pc running Windows XP/2003, use remote desktop. If you are running different OS, try logMeIn software.

yes, go for remote assitance..

ask some one to invite you from your home computer and you accept the invitation here and you can take control over your home system.

if its not possible then the only option is to share the data using ftp sites.

http://www.Gotomypc.com is very good. I have clients that use it to access their work from home. $20\mo.
If you want to try and setup a VPN you could use http://.www.NO-IP.com and do it for free. I use to use it to host a web server from home.
