Yup I'm another one with this problem, it is particularly bad if I am getting up early in the morning or have not had enough sleep and normally cannot eat until three hours after I wake up and when I do eat it has to be something like meat as I just cannot stomach cereal in the mornings. I've been like this around 12 years now, I asked my doctor about it but he was unable to explain the problem, I've met others with this problem as well and they are just as clueless as to the cause.

I have hell most mornings trying to brush my teeth, this is because I have a mint allergy and although I don't use mint toothpaste anymore my body still associates brushing my teeth to feeling ill. So most mornings this problem with brushing my teeth coupled with the morning sickness as you describe sees me on the bathroom floor curled up in a foetal position trying not to be sick :o(

If it gives you problems treat it as you would morning sickness during pregnancy, I know from personal experience that it is near to impossible to eat in the morning, however try instead drinking peppermint or ginger tea as these will settle your stomach considerably.

Eat some water biscuits or plain crackers when you first get up, just one will help settle your stomach, and then later on when you are starting to feel a little better eat a banana – easier to eat when you feel like this than most things, but also a very good fruit for giving you an energy boost so great for breakfasts when your limited on what you can stomach.

I used to be like this too, I think it is vey common. I think you need to get your stomach in to the routine of having breakfast. Start off with small things like a glass of milk in the morning and a banana and increase your intake each morning as the days go, eventually you will start to wake up hungry instaed of feeling sick, because your stomach will be used to food in the morning.
I think the sickness feeling is caused by low blood sugar from not having breakfast.

I am the same - the thought of eating first thing in the morning churns my stomach - about 10.00am I'm ready to eat - I tried once to eat breakfast as soon as I was up and ready but it just made me heave - I know its meant to be the best meal of the day but to me its the worst!!

I have no idea why though - so I am not really answering your question, I am just agreeing with you - thats a bit rubbish of me! sorry x

I'm the same way the thought of food first thing in the morning makes me sick. I think it might be because I eat at 6:00p.m. and then almost 12 hours go by since I have ate, so my stomach is queasy

Could be a whole range of things, if you are feeling stressed, not sleeping well, time you eat your last meal on a night time, what you are eating etc etc, if you think its a problem that needs to be addressed then you should really go and see your local gp for advice.
