Wouldn't be much of a friend if someone asked me to lie.

And no I would not but then my friends know me too well to ask me to lie. And I know them too well to know that they would never put themselves in a position where they would think that lying was the only thing to do.

A good sincere lie is an oxymoron.

Yes, I would. In fact, I've done it before.
I did lie to my best friend and also friends about something that actually benefit them.
I only lie when I have to, for some good reasons, such as lying so as to gain their happiness. Anything that is related to their well-being, I did lie before. For the good and not the bad.

Lies ALWAYS come back to slap you in the face. If you can't be honest with a close friend then you are not really being a friend. There is never a good reason to BETRAY trust. Once it's gone it can never get back to the level that it should be. Value your friendship and don't cheapen it with lying.

Lying is just plain wrong. However, the only way i would tell a lie is if it was to save a human life.

I would, only if I could be sure it wouldn't come back to bite me in the butt! It really depends on what the lie is about also...
