I have started to get IM whils i answer peoples Q.I know how to hide my address and i dont mind but why is it they treat it like a pick up joint....I had one thinking i was single and lonely.not happily married with 8 kids.......Why do they just assume that if you reply to them you up for grabs........I thought that people would read answers and maybe say thanks but they insist on trying to get a date and they dont believe it when you answer their Q...Why would i lie to them....

Because, unfortunately, there are plenty of people on sites like this who do think that its ok to go along with that kind of behaviuor. Its a very secretive world on here, but like you I believed that being honest and open in my responses would be enough for people to realise I wasn't here for a quick pick up! Not the case, so I've blocked my IM. Its a shame, but now I confine myself to just answering questions that I feel I can really help with.

A lot of people assume that because you are on the internet that you are looking to pull.
They are the saddos that cant chat anyone up in real life and have to do it hiding behind a computer screen.

There are a lot of desperate, lonely people out there, and if you aren't one of them, then it is best to not allow them access to you. If you do, then they're going to think you're like them, even if you aren't. That's just the way it is, so you might want to change your preferences on your account, and then you won't have to deal with that nonsense anymore

its our society today im afraid. Every time i log on to my messenger service, i get people from god only know, asking me many different and colorful questions. Just ignore and put them down as spam if they are rude or offensive adn just chat to the nicer ones. Good luck!

change ur preferences , dont allow any IM's and it will be fine
it is like that when u have to deal with so many people and diffrent age ranges in here but dont let this ruin ur day :-)

change your preferences to not allow IM nor e-mail
