When eating at a Chinese restaurant be very careful. Find a good one in your area and stick with it, don't mess around. They are famous for cutting corners, and giving you the lowest quality, even if it is cheap. As far as eating pets, it probably isn't cheaper for them. They probably just use bad cuts of meat. Apparently they do this in China though. They also have no respect for wildlife at all, eating things like parts of endangered animals because they believe they give sexual prowess or some other nonsense. but that is a whole other story.

Most use cat, but with a hint of dog for flavor. If you go into a high class Chinese restaurant, Siamese cats are used, with a very fine ground mixture of collie and doberman, with oregano.

Im kidding!!!

Gezz that was a sick question.

That will depend on the area that the restaurant is in. Many restaurants will use different ingredients than those stated on the menu - I've come across several restaurants that have used pigeon and seagull as a cheaper substitute for chicken.

Many low-end Chinese restaurants use cat as a substitute for chicken. Typically they are strays, but adult cats only - no kittens. From my experience, they don't serve dog as a substitute for any common dish.

I was served a T-bone steak and barbeque sauce at a Chinese restaurant.

Only problem was:
The steak had no bone in it, tasted EXTREMELY funny, and their idea of BBQ sauce was heated up, watered down, soy sauce!

Needless to say, I didn't eat it.

This was in Sydney, Australia.

There have been cases reported in the news here, of asian bakeries and restaurants with terrible hygiene standards and dead cats have been found on the premises.
