Don't think of anything like: What am I going to do with my hands? How will I manage stress? How will my coffee taste without a cigarette? etc.
Think of how damaging smoking is; how good it is to have clean clothes (free of smoke smell); how good it is to have a fresh breath (have you ever wondered what a partner non-smoker goes through to kiss you?)
Do not listen to what people say. Listen to your need for quitting.

Use the Nicorderm CQ patch. It worked for me. They gradually stop the cravings. I used to smoke 2 1/2 pax daily for years, but I've been smoke free for about 15 years.

I found Allen Carr's book "The Easyway to Stop Smoking" to be the key for me. http://allencarr.com/central/
My husband and I have been free of tobacco for almost two years now - we were each smoking up to 30 cigarettes per day.
