If so,what does it do/intend to do with any information they come across?.

They probably don't record as much information as they want us to believe they do as they want us to be quiet little poodles. As for what they do with it, it probably gets screwed up into toilet paper to fill in all the cracks at the Home Office.

It is most likely that they do. They would keep information stored at MI5 headquarters. In this day and age I would expect that the US and UK governments keep files on every single citizen. Anytime you use an ATM, credit card, visit a bank, go online or make a phonecall your location and time is recorded. With gprs systems on new cars and mobile phones the government can track where you are and where you go constantly. I can only see things getting worse in the future as the government is bringing in compulsory ID cards and electronic tagging. Remember Big Brother is watching

Every time you visit any website your IP address is recorded there, and not only in government websites. Now what they do with it is their own business.
