I have never really been into Valentines day, as I don't think in a relationship you need an excuse to buy presents or spoil your boyfriend/partner/husband just because a certain day of the year is commercialised to be romantic!
My other half is lovely and is constantly spoiling me and buying my things and whenever we're together is great. He completely knows how I feel about Valentines day, and I get the impression that it seems to be more about the woman in the relationship rather than the men. Having said that, we always feel really pressurised by friends and the such, and end up caving and getting each other small pressies like flowers or chocolates.

1. He remembers to get anything
2. It doesn't die in a week
3. It isn't so cheap it causes me to get a rash
4. It is heart felt, and personal
5. It is something I "mentioned" two years ago and think he has forgotten I wanted...
6. It is either something I can keep as a keepsake forever, or will last in my memory forever...
7. It isn't living...
8. If I wear it, it fits and doesn't make me look, (fat, ugly, etc..)
9. He really wanted to give it to me, even though he "shouldn't have"
10. It's homemade or custom made...(this is an over the top gift for the truly handy)

anything truly from the heart is always good, but sometimes guys buy you something without even thinking about it just because they think they have to, or something dumb like an iron, thats when it sucks, but when you know they gave it some thought and wanted it to be special for you, a frame made out of macaroni would make me happy.
but this year I know Im getting roses, cars, chocolates, jewelry, cute stuffed stuff, and a gift, since he's overseas:(

A red rose, romantic meal for two and an early night with soft music, candles burning and a bottle of nice wine.A good alternative has got to be diamonds, but i guess that is a bit unrealistic eh? P.S. If youre reading this darling, can i have the diamonds please????? lol

Nothing, Valentine's day is an annoying commercialised holiday. Now, if my lover and I want to give eachother gifts we'll do it some other day like you know, one that the corporations and mindless zombies of consumers are not telling us to have. Although, the sale of chocolates is pretty cool after the 'holiday' is over. Got to take advantage of that. ;)

Getting me a take out meal and letting me have control of the tv remote all evening without moaning about the rubbish I choose to watch.

I would also like a answer to this. I was thinking about a teddy bear with a heart plunging on its neck or maybe a red pillow with a message saying "I LOVE YOU" ^_^

Nothing. I hope he honors my request that we NOT celebrate it.
It's the most fake "holiday" of the year. I'd rather have someone express love because they want to, not because of tradition and commercialism.
