I am assuming that she already has been to the hospital and they treated her for the stroke and now she is post -stroke.
Physical therapy with a physical therapist and/or occupational therapy and/or speech therapy (speech or swallowing)...
She might get some of her functioning back and she might not...she may have to learn how to adjust to her new level of functioning.

A stroke affects certain parts of the brain and depending on where the damage has occurred .so will certain faculties be.
The good news is that many stroke sufferers regain normal use of the affected parts as the body repairs itself over time.
Treatment will primarily be directed at ensuring another stroke doesn't follow on. and this will begin by examining your aunt and determining what exactly caused her stroke in the first place.
She will likely be put on a regimen of Warfarin which is an anti coagulant taken daily in pill form and designed to keep the blood from clotting-its a blood 'thinner".This has no side effects although her intake of alcohol will be strictly limited if she is on this.
Meantime she will probably be given some form of physiotherapy to aid her recovery and promote normal use of her affected limbs.
Wish her good luck from all

she will hopefully be getting home health and/or outpatient physical, occupational and possible speech therapy. at time the stroke may debilitate the cognitive process too. depending on the severity of her stroke your aunt may get back to full movement soon. physical therapist assist your aunt with strengthening walking, sitting etc. occupational therapist will assist with teaching her to dress herself, to prepare meals, increase her fine motor skills (that are needed with knitting, pushing buttons). speech therapist not only will teach her to articulate properly, the therapist will assist with memory, recall, problem solving. insurance, medicaid and medicare will pay for these services.
