In the film Ghostbusters, it mentions a twinkie. Is it some kind of food?, we don't seem to get the same sort of stuff you do in the USA.

No, it is not a chocolate cupcake, as one person said. They are a yellow cake filled with creamy gunk. They are oblong in shape, about 3-4 inches long. They are "junk food" items that you can buy in stores and such. They taste good, but are not good for people to eat very often.
Twinkies are very well known in the US and Canada.

A Twinkie is a chocolate muffin, or cupcake, with cream in the middle. It's delicious!
