I strongly believe that dogs dream like us. My dogs frequently have dreams and it appears as though these dreams are sometimes about chasing other dogs, or something, because they actually make motions like they are trying to run and they make noises like they are trying to bark, it kind of sounds like someone who tries to talk in their sleep. Very interesting.. sometimes I even wake them up because they may be having a "doggy-mare".

If you spend much time around a dog you will think so. They will be sleeping and jerk, move their legs, make noises while sleeping. You can see their eyes moving under their eyelids ( REM ? ) I think that they do, they just dream about different things, a steak bone, or that cute poodle( lol ).

I like to tell myself that they do, if only to justify my puppy's twitching in her sleep so that I don't flip and start assuming epilepsy or something.

I'll allways wonder how they think though... prolly not words, maybe pictures/pure emotions.
