I am 39 with 2 children and have lost all interest in sex and have no sex drive and think it is hormonal. I would like to try the testosterone patch but don't know where I can get one so can anyone tell me? I don't think they are available in the UK or Ireland so can you order them online from the States?

I don't believe in all those chemical solutions... Just try tantric sex, it is wonderful and will bring you and your partner closer spiritually as well as physically.

You need to see a doctor. Blood test need to be done to determine if you have a hormonal imbalance. If there is an existing imbalance, the the doctor writes a prescription that gives you the proper dosage to correct the problem. You'll also need to be monitored while on it and have regular blood work done, and annual rectal exams. Very often, 39 years old men, with 2 children, lose interested in sex for psychological reason that they aren't consciously aware of. Work, family, planning for the future, the realization that life is passing, and just the everyday responsibilities can sometimes wear away at us. If you don't have low testosterone and use a patch, you could increase your risk of prostate cancer or enlargement. It can also easily cause your breasts to enlarge. If you have an underlying problem, like heart, kidney, or liver disease excess testosterone can cause fluid to accumulate around your heart. Talk with your doctor before you do something that may end up hurting you.

Hopefully you will be unable to buy one. Low testosterone can cause reduced sex drive in women. You have been surfing the net BUT the old adage 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing 'is very accurate. You sure have a very little knowledge and I am afraid that makes you downright dangerous to yourself.

Go see your GP! I am sure if you wanting it checked he will measure your testosterone levels and advise you accordingly. Testosterone, like all drugs has side effects and there are numerous other causes of low sex drive, the majority of them are non physical and do not respond to that type of medication. Please take care.

You can't just go into a store and just buy testostorone. Your doctor has to write a prescription, and before your doctor writes a prescription, you have to have 2 blood tests that are one month apart, for example: if your doctor prescribed testostorone in January, before u go and get the testostorone, u would have to take a blood test for January, and then again in February. If both blood tests conclude that you have a low testistorone level, then your doctor will prescribe testostorone. But it would be at least two months before u can get testostorone from your doctor.

You should always see your doctor and let me decide whether to prescribe them, you may need something else not testosterone. If it is hormonal you may need oestrogen as you could be having early menopause. You shouldn't guess when it comes to things like this. I am presuming you are a woman?

Relationship counselling might help. If you live in UK the patches are not recommended by most mainstream doctors though patches that "might" contain the drug are available on the Internet
