People who live in the United States or Canada can get a free TLD domain name. Such as "yahoo.com." by signing up with this site and completing some tasks. You get points for each task completed and then use them to get a free domain name. I signed up with a few free survey sites and got myself a .info domain name because .info takes fewer points than .com. Took me about an hour to do and the name will expire in one year unless I complete a few more tasks.
It didn't cost me anyhting except for some of my time.

there are hundereds of such free services but you will get a long domain name plus some ads on your page all the time. better to buy your own domain name and hosting package from sitedoctors.com
