Power is a force that both is directed and directs. Money is definitely not power. Ask any extremely wealthy community member with great standing that was mercilessly cut down by the troops of some bandit king. So maybe it has something to do with being beyond the reach of such things. Admittedly, money can aid in that in a blank way, but it is limited. Say the nuances of acts that bring you joy or something like that, maybe that is in a sense power, or the feeling of being engaged in and engaged by.

Power is the ability to get others to do what you want.
There are lots of different kinds of power. Some power is intimidation...(Do this or I will smack you so hard you will bounce.) Sometimes this takes the form of "If you don't do this, I will STOP giving you....." where you threaten to withdraw some sort of support.
Money is also power (I will pay you money if you do this for me).
Sex can be power, a beautiful woman can often get a man to do all sorts of ridiculious things for her, and she doesn't even have to do anything for/to him.
Love can be power. A parent will go through hell itself if that is what it takes to get their kids fed.
Admiration can be a variant of that. That is why people who are widely admired are asked to endorse products for commercials. "If celebrity "X" does it, I want to do it to!" many people say.
A variation of that is the appeal to moral superiority... "Do this because it is the right thing to do" or the variant "Good people don' t do "X"".
Basicly power comes down to variations on "being loved" or "being feared". Different people throughout history have come down on different sides of that question... If it is better to be loved or feared. Machiavelli wrote the best book on the subject.
