Hi, does anyone know of any good acting schools in London that is good for absolute beginners? Im looking for a class that can help me gain more confidence with speaking and interacting with people and I think the best way to do so is through acting, instead of taking some money grobbing condifence course.
The thing is the ones I have seen focus mainly on developing professionals in theatre or film. I'm looking for one that doesn't take itself so seriously and it's main aim is to have fun.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi DarkStar. I'm about to start a series of impro for beginners classes in London. This could be right up your street since it will be mixing people with a strong interest in acting with people doing for personal development purposes. I will publish details on the website bellow soon. Alternatively you can send an email to FarGames-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. That will sign you up to the mailing list to get news and updates. All the best in your quest.

The Acting for Film course is very well organized, very informative and inspirational and the instructors are excellent”
This course has been developed for people who are serious about becoming a film actor, or wish to develop existing acting skills, though no previous experience is required. The majority of acting courses tend to emphasise theatre technique but many aspiring actors are in need of specific film skills such as knowing about eye-lines, hitting your marks and finding the light. This course will give you a more technical understanding of film so that you feel more secure when acting in front of a crew.
If you are interested in this course, but can't take four weeks out of your schedule, we also do Part-Time Acting for Film .
Please note: You must be aged 18 or over to do this course. If you're aged between 14 and 18 and are interested in acting, check out our ***NEW*** Young Actors Academy
Call today on 0845 658 4400 (UK only) or +44 (0)20 8280 9119 to discuss our Acting for Film course with an Enrolment Adviser.
Hope this will help you good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that they accept beginners at Michelle Danner Acting Studio, they have a well rounded acting program and you can choose for how long you want to study. And even as a beginner you get to take some classes with Michelle Danner in person who is also a director and works with major stars...

For "absolute" beginners, maybe an adult education course or a GCSE in drama may be better. You're probably want something a bit more advanced than that.

Depends how old you are...
The most fun acting things are for young people, when people are older it is usually less fun and much more serious.
Maybe a private tutor is the answer? You could explain to them that all you want to do is have fun.
