This makes no sense to me what so ever. It's funny that the people who complain about the rich enjoy buying all the crap they make!

It's like African American rappers complaining about the white man bringing them down, but yet rap about diamonds and gold... A trade owned by the white man.

Jealousy and envy coming from my enemies.

If Robin Hood were to exist today I'm sure he would have quit his job.

The white man owns it. Go to a jewelry shop.

Human nature to lick the boot that feeds you while biting the hand that feeds you.

It's a sick, twisted way of thinking.

Diamonds and gold are not white owned, rather diamonds are harvested in Africa and most are brought/traded overseas, and originated as blood diamonds. Same with gold, it is not panned up in San Francisco anymore.

I think for the people that hate them, it's about hating something you won't attain or are too lazy to work for. Everyone has the ability to become wealthy in the U.S., it's just about how much do you want it. Some people are content with making by with what they have and having a nice retirement. Poor people are funny.

I think the problem is, when people hate on the the rich, they lump all of them into one category. Kinda like racism. And assume that all of them are corrupt and snobby. But how many millionaires or billioniares do those haters know? I personally know of a handful, including a billionaire and if you didn't know they were rich you wouldn't have a clue. They dress the same, eat the same foods, and talk the same. Some are nice and some are high-mucky-muck. Just like everyone else in this world.

Partly, people dislike the rich out of jealousy. Partly, people dislike the rich because they believe on some level that there is such limited wealth out there that the richer Oprah or Martha Stewart is, the poorer we must be. Mind you, this doesn't mean that some of the rich don't deserve the dislike leveled at them--the fact that CEO's are earning 300 times what they did thirty years ago while their workers haven't gotten enough raises to cover cost-of-living is an imbalance that should be corrected, and the rich shouldn't get more tax exemptions than the poor (why? Because everyone should be treated equally). But a lot of it is indeed jealousy.

It's helpful to think of the people who are so much worse than we are, instead of those who are so much better, and realize that to them, each of us in middle-class America is as rich as Oprah. Do *we* deserve to be hated?

i don't think it's the people that are hated it's the attitudes that they portray. with wealth comes a sense of intitlement and the feeling of being above the law or so it may seem. if you have money then you can get away with practically anything. as for as black rappers talking about the man well don't really have experience with that on too much. but if you know anything about hip hop ( doubt it though) it's very hard to sell a million records when you talk about the positives of live or the problems in society.

take nas for example. he made more money talking about B's and h's then he did about speaking out against injustice and the stereotypes that haunt blacks. its a strange world my friend.

It is an apparent paradox but not without reason. In very many cases the ultra rich have become so by abusing, exploiting, using the poor and corrupting the system. Re: the robber barrons. This in itself breeds contempt in those who have been exploited and used. And the profit motive as exemplified by the capitalist system, is a less than altruistic ethic which again creates another paradox in a country that purports itself to have Christian values.
