CHSBASEBA....
If you have ONE company that you can produce a LINK to that provides FREE incoming calls, I challenge you to provide it. There is NO phone company in the US that provides free incoming calls for cell.

Glasshous...
Here's a guy that WORKS FOR the phone company!
If you have a phone in your house, do you pay for incoming calls? NO! Why? Because the other person is paying for it.
Do you pay for a dinner that you get when someone invites you to dinner? No, because your friend is paying--unless he skips off to the restroom and never returns!
What a math-challenged individual you are!

The reason is because when the number plan for cell phones was first defined by the FCC, they decided that cell phones would use the same number ranges as geographic numbers. Because of this decision, you can't charge the caller more for calling a cell phone rather than a land line because they can't tell what sort of phone they are calling. This means that the only way the cell company can make its money is by charging to receive the call. The rest of the world use a different - non geographic number range.

Because of this, cell phones are not popular in the US because users are reluctant to answer calls. Penetration is only about 40-50%. In Europe and Asia, penetration is > 90% of the population. Also calls are pretty cheap in the rest of the world (take Thailand - 2 US cents for an unlimited call duration!!)

how in the hell is it theft? they provide you phone service, part of that service is incoming calls that you answer. i have to say your question is absurd. as far as two people paying for the service, does that not seem fair since two people are using the service.

REALLY?!? I never knew of it. But geez... their being unreasonable. It should be reported immediately. Here in the Philippines, the receiver can answer the call for free. Your government must have something for use to it. I suggest that you create a group and start a revolt. THeir being inhmane
