You are the most important part of your success. Only you can make up your mind to do what has to be done. Once you have made up your mind to accomplish your task, the work will flow. Here are some suggestions that should really help.
First, remind yourself of your goals, it provides inspiration to get through the tough stuff you don't want to do. Next, find a truely quite spot: no radio, no friends, no TV. The library is often a great spot, but the idea is to eliminate distractions.
Next, break your studying down into smaller tasks. Then do one of the things on your list. After it's done, stand up, stretch, walk a bit, and get a glass of water (nothing else works to keep you going without getting antsy.)
Now go on to the next item on your list. When you have reached an hour of studying, take a full 5 minute break. If you have that much more to do, stop at 2 hours and take a walk, or do something more physical, then go back at it.
Lastly, buy a book called, "Becoming a Master Student."

This is a tough one. I say this because people learn in many different way's and maybe what how you have been taught to learn is not working out for you. I do not know your age, or if what grade you are in, but I have a few questiones. (1) can you sit still and just work thru everything at one time? (2) can you read something once like a paragraph that you are not interested in and remember it? or like some of us, do you need to take a break, because you become frustrated, and are bored easily with studies that don't quite interest you? Do you need to take a break and do something different for awile? Is it one particular class, or just those that you may or may not fine boring? I have 3 children and some learn differently. One can have no problems, another must have have total quietness and read aloud to memorize, I on the other hand am a Tactial learner. which means I cannot just read and remember. I have had to read, write notes on a particular subject and then have piece and quite, and yes, I also had to give myself time-out. If you are doing all this, or studying the same thing for until way past bed time, it's a good idea to see if you and your family are willing to have you checked for ADD. I know it's controversial, but it's better then not being able to concentrate. also your friends and depending on your activities, can keep you up late, and you may be very tired. There is nothing wrong, if your grades are falling, it could be a lot of different things. I hope that you are not ashamed as my daughter felt, I felt the same way, but you know what I accomplished a lot of things that no one thought i could. My sister is the same way and is working on her second degree. Like I said this is not an easy answere, this is something that you and your family can do about, or talk to someone at school who could help you, and I mean a counselor, if they tell you that you are lazy, look for someone else, because, I have a problem with that word. just don't give up! I hope that i have helped you in some degree and only wish you the best, but never give up!
