Here in the London area the builders have so much work, that they don't need to do the little, private jobs - and that is VERY obvious in their attitude. Unfortunately it seems that you have to be grateful for them turning up at all and doing a half-decent job. What they don't seem to appreciate is that some of us have to take time off too. I certainly don't trust anybody in my house I don't know. Looking at these type of hours then just looks like an awful waste!

So I'm with you on this one. Good luck! ;)

No, you have a right to be pissed off|

If someone says that they will be at a certain place at a certain time, they should be there - period||

You can judge a man by how well he keeps his word|

If he is constantly saying that one thing will happen and another thing always seems to happen, know that you have someone who is jerking you around| - Drop that person if you can|| ||

And another thing|

The ultimate test of character is how honest a man is with money|

If he consistently pays up on time and to the penny, you know that you have a man of integrity||||

But if he is constatly stonwalling about paying you back, pays back only part and you have to chase him all over the city to get the rest, and always seems to mysteriously disappear when you need him for something, know that you have someone who is planning to rip you off big-time|

There are simple tests of honesty and character, as I have pointed out|

It is not all that complicated|

I had this with an electrician before. I left the house after an hour though and called a different electrician the next day. The first electrician phoned me to see why I wasn't in and I explained that I had an appointment and that he came too late. I also explained that I wouldn't need his services. I hate tardiness and refuse to pay someone who is without a phone call explaining in advance.

The answer is your are not impatient. Its a waste of your day. But some of these people are not bright and do not think at all. Lack of a good upbringing basically. Some are really good some are not.
No point in asking the former where they have been. They will not know.!

You are not impatient. In this country we seem to have the attitude that once you have ordered an item or employed a tradesman to do something ,that they believe it their privilege to be late.
I lived abroad years ago and found that my items were delivered ALWAYS on time,no excuses or otherwise, because the people believed it was an honour to have your business and custom.
A total difference in attitude.

I totally agree!! Years ago tradesmen were glad to get the business and were always on time, also they did the work really well, not like the shoddy jobs they do today.

You shouldn't stand for it. My husband is a builder and would never dream of doing that to one of his customers. It's people like this that makes it hard for my husband to get business. I would question what he is up to. You are paying for a service that he is not providing.

Where have they been? sitting in a layby somewhere, guzzling lemonade, smoking cigarettes and listening to the radio. THATS where they have been.

Get a Polish tradesman the next time.
