Hitler start the war?

In my estimation, those nations of Europe that allowed Germany to aggressively defy the Treaty of Versailles are the cause of the Second World War. Hitler only did what he was allowed to do!

The die had been cast long before Germany attacked Poland. Hitler tested the European leaders every time he took territory - the Rhineland, Czechoslovakia, and his maneuvering over Danzig was only more of a test. By the time he took Poland, he had used every opportunity to gain military and strategic advantage. Poland was just the feather in his cap and the final straw for the nations of Europe.

Had Hitler's earlier advances been met with force, he would have backed down. History shows that he only did what he was allowed to do.
