Ok I am right around 30 years old. Our country (USA) has been at war to one extent or another since I was a child. I have never been big on politics and the such but I have to say, I have never in my life turned on my TV on a daily basis to hear of someone else dying over seas due to the war. I mean every single day it is some one new. Had anyone else noticed this trend?!?! I honestly feel that the only thing Bush has done is open my eyes to the need to pay attention to Politics and the need to vote!! While I absoutly think the world of our troops, I just dont think its right that they are over there trying to better 3rd world countries and getting killed! Its not right and I can honestly say that Bush needs to go.
I dont think anything has bothered me as much as this is right now when it comes to politics. Im just wondering how everyone else feels? Do you think we should continue to send troops over?!?!
If so why. Jeepers I wish it were as easy as everyone just getting along

Iraq is a losing battle. We are never going to win this. We shouldn't have gone in in the first place. Now we have created a civil war in a country where people used to coexist without blowing up each other's shrines on holy days. I am also in my 30s, but it is not war deaths I remembering hearing about on the news everyday...it was Americans killing other Americans. Whether it was in my city, my county, my state, or the next state over, it always seemed like we were good at killing each other. I don't understand why Americans today are afraid of terrorists. Your chances of being harmed by a terrorist are microscopic, but your chances of being harmed by another American? Very, very good.

In a sense, this isn't really anything new. I remember the Vietnam war, and there were reports on the news every evening about how many people had died. Vietnam was the first war where it was possible for reports to reach the U.S. practically instantaneously (or at least VERY quickly). Prior to Vietnam, during the Korean war and futher back, there were no communications satellites, as the first man-made satellite wasn't launched until 1957. In previous wars, all the way back to the Civil War, there were casualty lists posted in public places, printed in newspapers, etc. Our era just sees it all faster that previous ones.

If we lived in a fairy tale world this would be all fine but we do not. Bush does not like people getting killed, he is not a killer. He is not a pushover either, he realizes freedom isn't free. Just think back to 911 and refresh your memory of the pain you felt. We got Suddam Hussein out of the deal and that was wonderful work. You do not hear soilders complaining because they are there to do a job and they are very proud of it!!! The other party has no idea what to do IF the troops were pulled. Bush has sent a strong message and terrorist hate him for it, they can't wait for him to get out of office in hopes some fixated mind would fill his shoes and I can promise you if this happens we are all in trouble!!!
