I gave up 5 months ago having read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking and I highly recommend it. I smoked for 20 years and thought I'd never give up but this book changed my life. It is still normal to get cravings, though this book will change your way of thinking and should help you a lot. Saying that, I still think (and even dream!) about smoking every now and then and just a couple weeks ago while drunk at a BBQ I had a couple puffs on a cigarette...it was horrible and all it did was remind me why I'd given up. Go buy this book, it's brilliant! Keep it up!

After 3 days any physical effects off the nicotine will be gone so if you are having temper issues it is not directly related to smoking, maybe the feeling that you want something you cant have,I did feel like this many times while trying to quit and allways went back to smoking until I read the easy way to stop smoking its a great book and Ive been off the butts for 21 months with no regrets or mood swings you should read it even if you have allready quit he puts everything in a different perspective than any other program authors name is allen Carr Good Luck

hi there, congratulations on not smoking the evil weed!. you are still suffering from withdrawl symptoms and it'll take a little while longer to clear so don't give in. Remember smoking is an addiction ...I stopped 10 years ago and occasionally still get the urge..I personally focus on that awful light headed feeling you get when you haven't smoked for a while, and then add on that horrible sicky feeling ..so far its worked. Smoking was a big part of my life. I used it as an excuse to relax, un wind, de-stress..escape from non smokers! etc, and it takes a while to adjust. when you are not liking your self think how much money you are saving by not smoking, and how much better you can breathe..and how much better you smell..it would make me smile .. if its any consulation I am apparently snappy and bad tempered...hubby blames the hormones, the kids blame it on my lack of chocolate and I blame it on not having enough sleep! any way take care of your self and it'll pass

Why are you moody, because the devil called nicotene is trying to get at you so to make you snappy and moody it is feeding
so what do we do starve it and what i mean by that is if you go to the opposite and be happy then you have won and within 3 months it will go but every time you get moody before that time you add another month to the time scale.well done for giving up the smelly crap. you can do it.

It is a hard slog, and yes you will hate yourself, but not as much as you would if you give in now! Keep it up, it is worth it. I gave up 19 months ago and I am so glad I stuck to it. The moodiness and bad tempered behaviour will go, why not save the money you were spending on cigarettes and then treat yourself to something nice in a months time to cheer yourself up?

I stopped smoking three years ago, but everyday is a battle because you're still fighting the temptation.

Mood swings and temper tantrums are normal. It's a passing phase and you shouldn't worry about it. You'll be fine soon, just keep strong and don't give in to the temptation!!

Good luck.

WELL DONE, I JUST STOPPED LAST WEEK. AFTER SMOKING FOR 36 YRS. IT IS NORMAL FOR SOME PEOPLE TO BE A BIT SNAPPY. YOU SHOULD TRY DRINKING WATER WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE A CIGGY, THIS RELAY HELPS WITH THE CRAVING,IT FOOLS YOUR BRAIN INTO THINKING YOU JUST WANT A DRINK INSTEAD OF A SMOKE. I HAVE BEEN DOING IT AND DONT FEEL LIKE A CIGARETTE AT ALL AFTER ONLY A WEEK. AND I HAVE NOT BEEN TO MOODY. GIVE IT A TRY. REMEMBER YOU ARE A NONE SMOKER NOW .

Completely normal - everyone reacts differently but I think most become tetchy!! Well done though, a month is a brilliant milestone - you have physically kicked the nicotene addition - keep up the good work!!

Well done, the grumps will pass, but if you want a little help, go to your chemist and get some Calms, they should sort you out, once again WELL DONE you should feel proud of yourself, you have escaped the curse of the nicotine stick.
