I love the Harry Potter books, I have read them all.( I'm just a big kid at heart)

I love the films as well but the books are so much better

It is good that they are, perhaps, getting children to read more. But they are bad in that they appear to be becoming a cult. How many questions are there on here about what is going to happen in book 7? It is sad that people - particularly kids - are so obsessive about them. I hope that all the adults that are reading them - behind 'grown up' covers so no one else realises - are also reading other books.

I thought they were good at the beginning but Harry has been a little obnoxious in the last two books. Maybe it's his teenage angst but he seems very short tempered and full of himself of late.

The books have more detail and background information than the movies. J.K. Rowlings can perfectly describe a intricate details without boring you and she can hold the suspense without draging it into another unnecessary page. They're perfect for preteens and up and those who want to explore someone else's imagination.

Fantastic! They are great because they can be read by adults as well as children. JK Rowling has performed quite a feat herself in being able to write one series of books that appeals to such different audiences. Few writers of our time have managed that.

i've tried to read a few of them but cant seem to get hooked. i try to read a few books but for some reason if i don't get sucked in within the first 50 pages or so i tend to put them down and never look at them again. i've prob missed so many great reads because of this?

Personally I have not read them but both my sons have and rave about them. Now you may asks how can I let my sons read books that I know nothing (or very little about) and that I should censor their reading materials, and you may be right except for the fact that they are 28 and23!!!!!!!

Happy reading!
