Cant we compress it down to a day? That way we can dedicate a day every year to all races. We can have a mexican day, a japanese day. a white day, .......you see the point i hope.

This is racism. Anytime one race is exalted above another thats what you get.

Why do the Irish only have st. patricks day? Why not have a whole month also? I could go on and run out of characters to work with here just naming races that are being discriminated against, but why bother? All races should have only one day.

No, I don't see your point. Yes, I think we need more than a month. We should learn something new about different cultures and nationalities everyday. Maybe then we will be more tolerance of each other. Hopefully we will see we are more alike than different. White people have a holiday everyday. The U. S. is dominate by the whites. When I see a magazine covers, TV, greeting cards etc 99.9% of the time it will be a white person. The white race is largely represent. Whites are the majority other races like blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc are the minority. Whites also have "white privileges". Why do white people want everything that blacks people have anyway? Can't blacks have something that just to belong to us without white people complaining or making an issue about it? Yes, I have notice a lot of questions on this site regarding black people and making derogatory remarks about blacks. I believe this country the USA was built off the blood, sweat, and tears of black slaves. I don't think we should ever forgot the horror of slavery. We should celebrate have far blacks have come. If you don't get it, you will never get it. Get over it and let it go.

I think our everyday history should include all races. I think having a "black" history month further perpetuates the segregation in our soceity. Yes its nice to learn about how the black race has contributed to this soceity, but they are not the only ethnic race that has done that. I think our true history is multicultural, but our textbooks doesnt reflect that.I can see that other ethncities should be offended. By having a black history month it insinuates that history is just reserved for "white" historical happenings. Thats sickening to me. The thing I love about this country is there is such a mix of cultures, I think its interesting. Perhaps if we did include "all" the people regardless of race that has contributed to our history, some of the hatred and segregation would eventually subside .

We shouldn't even have this month. You can not make people equal by promoting one above the other.

By the way white people know more about Black history than black people do, which is really sad but it is the fact if you look at school statistics.

I think what is needed in United States is "Humanity Month"!

Then we can call the rest of the year "Learn for you own good" and make everyone do better at schools!

American History is taught all year long(which I never found a problem with and never heard anyone complain about it) so what is so wrong about a race having a month of recognition especially that America was not built on or functions solely by one race?

why do you even care. ive been looking at a lot of questions and i read more complaints about why blacks get this and why blacks get that than actually blacks complaing about ANYTHING. Black history month is to celebrate a mile stone in acheivement and supposed acceptance ( which i see isn't happening here). it took over 200 years to stop a terrible crime from continueing. no one told your ansestors to come to africa and bring us over here. i hear a lot of "go back to your own country" um hello i do believe that the Native Americans were here first. doen't you think they wish YOU would go back to yours. don't even try to pull that "i was born here"

NEWS FLASH.......

SO WAS I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

americans did a very bad thing and now they have to compensate for it. tough deal
