LISTEN...
LISTEN...
LISTEN...
LISTEN...

... with your heart.
... with your mind.
... with your soul.
... with your body.

Listening is a choice of focus...
on what you hear... (what is he or she saying)
on what you see... (true or something else or somewhere around)
on what you feel... (is being said)
on what you smell... (something in between the words)
on what you taste... (bland, flavorful, just good... you know)

You see true listening requires the whole you to get the message that the speaker is conveying, but what is important... do YOU understand what is being said? If not, ask and clarify the things that are said. you will get a better idea when it is clear to you...

Have fun when your doing it... smile... ;-)

The first thing is to build your listening skills.
Ask questions during breaks in their dialog and remember important things said by the other person. If you don't understand something, ask.
These things will show the other person that you are really interested in what they are saying.
Besides that, just show the other person that you enjoy listening to them. They will be so happy that they will think you are the best listener in the world, even if you aren't very good at all.

P.S. To Blademan,
Don't insult others. It only shows people that you are in insecure little brat.
Your sentence structure is ridiculous.
(first to be a good question writter) should be "If you want to be a good listener, you must first be a good at writing questions."
Learn to write before insulting other people's writing.
