Its a disease we keep perpetuating through a society that does not value the individual, where mass produced copies are highly sought after. A place where orginality is worth nothing, and you succeed only if you can manipulate others. We respect nothing and no-one most of all ourselves, the price of a human life is a handful fo beans.

Imagine a life where you are invisible, insignificant and you are never heard. Depression is a reminder to us all to keep our lives real, make meaningful connections with others and find our purpose.

They say valleys (depression and soul wrenching moments) are so low to make the view from the mountiantop worth the climb... in other words the lows in our lives make the comforts and good things stand out more. But don't mind me I haven't seen a mountaintop in 2 years since hubby and mom died. Hike on...I'll catch up

Seriously, it s a disease of sorts. Maybe it's population control without the plague or famine. Only thing I can think of.

For me, it reminds me that I am human. It also reminds me that being on medication is what I really need right now. I suppose there are plenty of ways it can be useful to others as well; it can show people that not everyone is perfectly healthy, and that that's okay. It can teach patience with oneself and others, compassion as well.

It depends what kind of depression it is. If it`s clinical depression it completely destroyes the person who has it, but if it`s just a moment or one small period it helps you get into a deeper contact with yourself.
