I wish to plan a holiday trip to Ngongoro, Tanzania during Easter and wish to drive from Lilongwe to Ngorongoro in Tanzania. How good and safe are the roads? How advisable to drive all alone with family on this route? Does any one have expert tip on this? Is there any place in Tanzania who manages trips? Is is worth travelling that side during Easter? Or is it advisable to visit Cape Town during this time?

karibu Tanzania!
if you r coming from Lilongwe, there is no problem by road but you need a 4x4.
from mbeya you go on a very good road to morogoro, than to chilinze and to arusha.
from arusha the road is very good to karatu and to the entrance to the ngorogoro park. from here the road is not so good, but not bad.
expect to pay a hefty price as a tourist for park fees.
there will be a lot of visitors at that time of the year.
cap town is great at April but very expensive
