Linguistic states have promoted regionalism, is this not the time to abolish them and let us be just Indians?

Instead of linguistic states India can be divided into smaller 50 states for better administration. This will also stop us thinking in terms of north Indians. south Indians, Tamilian, Keralite, UPite, Bihari. Bengali etc. and also stop politicians from dividing us. We can learn whatever languages we want, follow different rituals and live as Proud Indians.

Yes, you are perfectly right to think and suggest so. We have had this division based on language for fifty years. It is time to reflect on the wisdom of doing so and amend the constitution or rewrite it, so that the country can be divided into manageable administrative units!

linguistic states and all the attendant troubles were created by senseless and unwise politicians of our country.
It is not easy to abolish them now unless the present democartic set up is replaced by a benevelent dictatorship. This is unlikely to happen. The conditions will worsen with the passage of mopre time.Political parties would harvest votes at the cost of the state and the poor man's tax money.
That is the policians woiuyld be doing business with the money of the tax payers and enrich himself . Even now the relaies of ploticinas hailing form very humble origin are in the list of International billioners while the progenies of the earst while maharajahs themselves are found not qualified for inclusion at the botom of the international poor people .
The politicians are making their people rich and fabulously rich and swindling the public money in the name of schemes .
One inersting thng is the supply of free TVs to poor people at the cost of the tax pauyer's money so that they might subscribe to the cable TV business of the family of the politician concerned .
The political parties and most people are blind to this wonderful scheme of the business -minded politicians who would raise a hue and cry if the scheme is opposed stating that the opponents are depriving the poor people of the benefit of a TV. , where as the case is something totally different. The viewership of the TV of the family of the politician also would increase manifold at state cost and this would fetch the family a sizeable income through the advertisements too.

As long as the people aspire to capture power and rule others is there, any type of division will not help. Take the case of family structure.We had joint family set up earlier. Grownups wanted independence hence the families were divided.
When people sharing the same blood could not stay under one roof how do you expect different people stay together?

They are all existing for thousands of years and how is it possible to remove all these language barriers?. If you look at it everything is regional including the centre. PM is from punjab, prez from TN, and so on. Centre is only a concept but the reality is, it is a congregation of regional leaders. Forget it.
