and I heard that nurses don't have lives because they must always be on call for work. Is this true? Can nurses make their own hours? And is it easy to find a job as a nurse right now or is the medical industry packed tight?

Before you go to school to be a nurse you should become a nursing assistant first. Nursing isn't what most people think it is. Test it out before you go thru the hell of nursing school. It sucks to see people work so hard to graduate and when they do and they enter the real world of nursing they hate it. Trust me, take a CNA course first. If you like it, your experience will help you in nursing school. If you hate it, you've saved yourself from a lot of wasted time, money, sweat and tears!

Yes some nurses make excellent money. But they work for it. Some place nurses do not have to be on call. If you want to be on call, you can find a place.
Yes,it is easy to find a job right now. Nurses are needed so bad now and I hope you want to be a nurse for the right reasons.. The patient, caring and helping someone get well.
Nurses are burned out,and are changing careers or using their degrees to help other fields right now. Lawyers are hiring them for patients that are suing. Nursing read charts, and will be a big help for their knowledge.

Yes. I am a home health nurse. I would suggest the home care field. Better hours and pay.

You have to be half-angelic to be a nurse. They haven't had a pay rise since Florence Nightingale.
