I am 23 and have family obligations. I have been discouraging myself from pursuing my education. My friend informed me that her mother didn't obtain her bachelors degree until her children had grown up, she has gone on and received her PH.D and has a successful job.

You should do it for yourself and your family. If going back to school will aid you in advancing in your current job or starting a new degree. I am sure you want what everyone else wants, good job opportunities, benefits and being able to provide for your family, so you are never to old to improve your life.

It just requires a little more dedication and well thought out decisions when you have family responsibilities.

I don't think so. Many people have gone back to college at your age. Learning is a continuous process. The more we learn the better and to study is a grave obligation for the young and the old.To get a college education is an avantage and a privilege. It also is a good example for your children and everyone around you. It also gives you the confidence you need to do a good job in the workplace and in society, wherever you will be called to serve in the future.

heh! believe me whenever you enter college, it is not late at all! me for instance, I worked for seven years and then one day I decided ok, it is time to upgrade my knowledge in some way. I'll tell you, from IT point of view, I am extremely happy that I entered after all these years! why? because now I pay what I could have paid years back, and learn newer thaings about technology!
correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope! My college has a lot of people over 30. Also, a lot of colleges have courses that are offered at night (6pm and later),so you can work in the day and take classes at night.

You are never too old to do anything. All the crap like that has been imposed on our minds by the complexed living system we have unwantedly adopted.
It is your mind that needs to be young all the time regardless of your age.
