Im moving to Tennessee in mid June. How do I know if People are in favour of inter-racial relationships there? My husband said that theres KKK in the area.... Im dark skinned but indian looking.... Anyone from TN that can help?

I'm from Georgia, not Tennessee...but it's the same area. I'm white and my fiance is black so I have some experience with this. There are KKK in the area, but they aren't prevalent and I've never personally met a member. Not all people are supportive of interracial relationships and can be judgemental, but it's nothing too bad. I've had only about 5 incidents where a stranger reacted to our interracial relationship...and 4 of those times it was by a black girl not a white KKK member. So, point is, you'll eventually encounter some form of racial prejudice, but chances are it won't be serious. I've learned to hold my head up and ignore it. Does it bother me? Yes. But there's nothing I can do about that one person right then. I love my fiance and he loves me and we're not at all ashamed of our relationship. We're not going to let other people's beliefs bring us down. I'm not trying to scare you though. Most people down south are friendly as can be. Good luck and have a safe move!

I live in east Tennessee and can tell you that most people are very friendly and accepting of inter-racial relationships. You might run across a few that will make some rude comments, but that's probably about it.

I am from the south and trust me, the majority of the people are extremely friendly there and do not look at the color of your skin. You will be just fine. Trust me.
