It is most curious as the party seems to be playing around with the field. You know Obama will not be the candidate, and probably not Hillary either, so what are they doing? Obviously it is too early to tell, but it sure is strange.

You seem to be implying that there is a conspiracy of some sort being conducted by that usual suspect: "they." Sen. Biden has always had trouble expressing himself in public, which is why he has never had much luck running for President.

As for Obama . . . why are people amazed at his public appeal when they realize that somehow four years ago the country nominated George Bush and John Kerry? He is not only intelligent and thoughtfully reflective (areas where Bush is lacking), he is also articulate and charismatic (areas Kerry found challenging). Some of his ideas actually sound good, and he sounds like a leader who actually speaks his mind and is willing to rise or fall on that. As Hillary and McCain, for instance, try to appease the people they think are the key to their getting the nomination, Obama is simply saying what he thinks.

By the way, I suspect a lot of people question him in this general, conpiratorial way because he scares them in a very important way: he might just win. There are a lot of Republicans secretly rooting for Hilary because they think she will be an easy target.

Have you read some of what Senator Obama has written, and some of the speeches he has given? He's very smart, very optimistic (which I think we need), and well spoken. THAT is why the people who support him are "pushing" him.

Unfortunately, speaking of "well spoken," Biden made a slip-of-the-tongue that was nowhere near as bad as (supposedly liberal) the media built it into, but he's been known for some time to have foot-in-mouth disease, so that's not so big a surprise. In any case, he didn't have the charisma from the start that Obama does.

Really--check out what Obama really says, instead of reacting to just his popularity or just his race. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I don't even understand what all the Taurus Excretia is all about with Sen. Biden; I understood his statement to mean that Obama was clean in respect to not being involved in controversy or scandals... too much was made out of that innocent statement. How many times didn't we hear the statement that someone was "squeaky-clean" and it ONLY referred to being free of scandals? Why the ambush? There was no need to bushwhack Biden, really. That was just an old political dirty tactic and instead of the PUBLIC demanding an end to the dirty tricks, the public played into their dirty hands.

Really, who in hell is Jesse Jackson to make ANY demands for explanation (with his Hymie-town remark not that long ago about NYC) or loony-toon Sharpton whose integrity has come under fire so many times in the past that he no longer has any kind of credibility... who elected them spokespersons for the Black community? Not any of my friends...! Why the need to twist an innocent statement that was uttered with no kind of malice whatsoever? When are we going to start getting some serious, adult news-reporting?

IF I had been Biden, I would have REFUSED to apologize for SOMEONE ELSE mis-interpreting my words; I would have gotten up and given them a lesson on Standard American English and vernacular terms commonly used not only among the intelligentsia but the common folk, as well.... but I would have done this to deliberately embarrass the idiots! I don't cater to "political correctness" nor to the overwhelming Taurus Excretia (b/s). I would have loved to hear Biden tell those detractors that if they have nothing intelligent to contribute to an adult conversation, to just SHUT UP (like the character, Hannibal The Cannibal, said in "Hannibal," the movie and the book).

Goodness, today anyone in public life must be a lexicographer, or wordsmith, on the caliber of William F. Buckley, Jr. just to say, "Good morning." That was a fantastic ploy to distract attention from what Biden was saying... sheesh, we need some adult attitude in the news media, really.

I just hope the candidates don't take up where some fanatics have left off with name-calling, repeating asinine slogans and nonsensical political propaganda rhetoric.

I think that it would be a very interesting contest if the elections were to be held tomorrow and the top candidates debating were McCain and Obama, two serious and intelligent individuals. I just hope this coming election doesn't turn into another circus (or comedy show like we've had with Dubya).

I have a suspicion that Obama may not be taken too seriously because he is young and suspected of being inexperienced... but, what experience did Eisenhower or Grant have, or what about Dubya's series of failures in business and his bankrupted companies, for that matter, and his mismanagement of the squandered funds left by the previous administration for Social Security and Medicare? Perhaps, Obama can serve run for Vice President under Hillary Clinton and if elected, have 4 or 8 years of experience to draw from then?

An interesting debate would involve Mrs. Clinton and Obama on side and McCain and Biden on the other side.

We really need a serious, intelligent and well-informed person in the White House, whether that person is a man or woman is yet to be determined, and I hope it is determined by verifiable facts, not a popularity contests or dirty politics or the super rich and powerful pulling strings (or any kind of questionable "coincidences" at the voting polls or with the voting machines...)

Incredible isn't it? I am undecided about the man? Have to do more research and listen to his platform and parlay tactics, those besides flash and dash. He has a style but is he legit? I don't know? I think we are inevitably fooled by youth and looks and the black thing as well. Biden is not a racist but they will use someone to base themselves on a fight for publicity to get the seat for Obama if necessary, and that is the oldest tactic in the world and I think that is a cheap shot as well, as using the Great Black hope for a ticket? Personally he is too young, and very inexperienced, but maybe for VP and that is the right way then at the end of the term 8 yrs, He then will be experienced enough to take the chair fair and square, now he is a token and it is pathetic the stance that the Democrats are taking on this issue. Obama is also a Muslim? Sounds like the Israel Cabinet as well as the connection here? hmmmmm?
Where is the Blue Turban? This is no reflection on him as I said it is dirty pool, politics is, and it is too crazy and chaotic now that we are all suffering from whiplash. And as far as bigotry, most black people I know are very clanish and bigoted against whites, until you get to know them, they still are using that trump card by the by about 100 years ago in slavery? Who wasn't a slave? Hell I am a native American. ha ha Race is not an issue but as long as someone has to prove something about themselves like the first black in the White House or the first woman this country is unstable for sure, because it is not about the people it is about a selfish motive and a detourant from the issue We the People pay your Gosh darn salary to work for us in peace and harmony, not to invest in foreign crap for your pockets, and or start wars and make laws to take our freedom. Who in the hell told them they are better than us. Or I am black, Jewish, Islamic, Catholic, Lutheran, Buddhist, Mormon, etc., and don't forget Arnie Schwartzenager? oh my God a Nazi youth camper in Germany? born and bred by an SS man? come on now? What 's it all about Alfie? Talk about Girl's Gone Wild? They should make a comedy of errors out of this one for sure, and laugh it up because tomorrow we may all die? A president is based on issues about us the people not them and their opinions of what they think?
We can think, and I think they are all full of S--t! Power is the worst drug in the world and you never get off of it. You are an addict for life, always chanting about what you are or what you lost, and they truly are lost in their own orbs, eh? You and I probably are smarter than half of those half wits drunk with power, but that goes to show you, we don't want the job because the job sucks but worse than that it is because they suck the big one.

The media is in love with Obama. If the Democrats had any sense they would all get behind him tomorrow. He will never have any problems with the media and that is a huge asset. Nobody else in American politics is so adored by the media.

huh? what's your point? obama has been in the spot light since the Dnc last year. Biden no body knew who he was until a few days ago.

why do republicans still support mccain when "they" have used him as a scapegoat AND insulted the guy when he ran against bush.

but now that he's their only hope-they are making sure he's happy.

The liberal leftist extremist media hates the United States. They love Hussein Obama because he is an islamofascist and hates the United States as well.
