50 Gig is quite good if you are just sufing the net, sending emails & stuff, but if you storing lots of music / videos playing games etc... it might not be enough.
You could just buy an external hard drive (plug into usb port) when you need the extra space in the future?

At 50gig I assume you are talking about your hard drive, not your memory!
That is where your operating system, programs and file are stored.
If you store large amounts of music and/or video, you could use a bigger hard drive, but if you have little need for large amounts of data storage, the 50gig should be fine.
For performance you should be looking at the processor, video and memory components and without knowing these, it's hard to make a call on the quality of the laptop.
You can email me the specifications by clicking on my profile and I will send you my best advice.

You definitely want a bigger hard disk unless you are only using the laptop for office applications, occasional email, internet surfing. If you are going to download loads of music and video, rip dvds, create iso images etc you will soon find that 50gb gets eaten up. Running out of space can impact on system performance, especially defragging. The one option you have is to get an external usb hard drive for storage - some of which are cheap. The slim portable ones though are dear...

It depends on how good a deal it is. If it's super cheap 50gigs can be ok for a laptop especially if you can just buy more from the manufacturer and upgrade it. How good are the other specs. like ram and processing speed? etc.
