Whatever rocks your boat.....I would pick Scout for the boy and change the spelling of Jem to Gem for the girl. Yeah, from the ole school I am for sure.
I know someone who named their two boys: Codie and the other is Colt. So, are you gonna whiplash me for not wanting the girl to be called Scout?

Scout is the name of the girl in 'To Kill A Mockingbird.' It works great in the book, since she is portrayed as very observant and thoughtful. If the personality goes with the name, why not? Jem sounds pretentious to me. It's a re-spelling of "Gem" which for me is on the level of some rap singer trying to come up with an original concept in a most unoriginal way.

I like "Scout" for a girl & there is at least 1 other little girl out there w/the same name! Demi Moore's daughter. But...."Jem" that spelling is too feminine for a boy, he would be teased unmercifully.

i think Jem is okay for a boy because its juss another way of spelling Jim. Scout is cute but not for a girl maybe for an animal or somethin!
