More than once in recent days, I've seen on the news, a story and video about, fish that have had, hearts, dots, and stripes tattooed on them. I don't agree with that at all.

Fish, are colorful enough without that being done to them. And - how do they do that, to the fish anyway?

Blubblubblub!!!

I don't think it is funny, I think it is sick.
How can you inject dye onto a small fish body and not worry about what it is doing to the animal.
I have seen small fish in highly flourescent colors - they were advertised as some unusual catch from some tropical country. What it really was that these poor animal had been injected with some color, imagine that.
I like to get my hands on some of people who do this sort of thing. Anything for a buck in the billfold. This practise should be stopped.

Any how, it is going to be superb, unquestionably theirs not something incorrect with tattoos, only i could get them bumped off by 30, different sensible it is not gonna look surprisingly. a minimum of bumped off and a sparkling one positioned on.

you know I thought that was kinda cool because I saw a few silver tattooed mollies at pet supermarket, the dyes dont last after a few weeks to a couple of months, its not worth the money. I was told they inject the dye into the fish itself. how wrong. its neat looking but the process seems inhumane.

the fish usually don't keep the color and then i guess the person that bought it gets aggravated because they end up with a normal fish or worse it dies because its immune system is destroyed in the process.

there are many people in the hobby that boycott stores that do this -- here is some information on how horrible it really is --

If its dyed, like injected with a needle (like the painted tetras) - then its pretty damn cruel. The fish suffers for this.

The story you are probably seeing is about a recent developmnet in fish customizing. Its lazer etching which affects the scales outside the fish. If its lazer etched like the i love you / happy new year fish, then its not so bad. The process is quick and much more harmless for the fish than dye injecting.

Its wrong and could easily be done to win a fish show as well, since part of the judging is color and pattern on fish. (cheating)

its just about as bad as the piercings they are starting to give pets. poor little critters...and wasnt there something a long time ago where a guy had one of his cat's eyes removed so that he could place a diamond ring inside? i saw that somewhere but that could have been false. anywho, just because we are taking on tattoos and piercings and body alterations doesnt mean our pets do.

I think it is abuse. They inject dyes into fish, too,to make uninformed customers think they are getting something exotic. The dye doesn't last, and can also stress the fish.
