I had this happen and the problem was my cheap power supply could no longer produce the proper voltage for the 12v rail. My computer would abruptly shut off on a heavy seek of a CD in the drive. The voltage apparently would drop just enough to cause a shut down. Swapped out the power supply for a new one and the problem went away.

System getting stopped may be due to over heat. So, check it. Then it may also due to your graphics card problem. It might not be compatible to your hardware. Or may be due to insufficient memory.
Nothing other than these 3 factors.. Check it out.
Final case is that your PC might not be assembled properly. Call service engineer.

Check for virus/adware/spyware on your machine. Or your virus scanner might have triggered a auto-scan, causing high CPU utilization, making your game to freeze!
