no mean to copy, but i saw this question posted regarding bush and i wonder how many people can answer it when applying it to our previous president.

And please, no "making the world safer" or "War on Terror" crap.

note: i am not trying to argue just reposting the question with a different president's name. Any condescending or mean tone, is simply copied from the original poster.

1) Clinton signed the Brady Bill, which imposed a five-day waiting period on handgun purchases.
2) He also expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit, which benefits working class families with dependent children
3) Clinton signed the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, which required large employers to allow their employees to take unpaid leave because of pregnancy or serious medical condition.

AND....During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term. He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country's history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination

1. He raised taxes on the rich and lowered taxes for the middle and lower classes. For this, the Republicans managed to retaliate by taking Congress in 1994. But this policy started the balancing of the budget and began an economic boom. We were actually operating at a surplus and starting to pay down the national debt when he left office.

2. After the World Trade Center attack in the early nineties, the perpetrators were caught, were put on trial with their full civil rights intact, were convicted, and are now serving the rest of their miserable lives in prison. THAT's the right way to send a message to terrorists.

3. The violent crime rate declined dramatically during his presidency. This might have been due in part to significant gun control laws passed early in his presidency, but it also made the NRA a formidable enemy, also hurting the 1994 campaign.

4. The number of abortions per year decreased by about a third during his presidency. This might have been due to more openness about ways to prevent pregnancy other than "just say no" policies or pushing "abstinence only" forms of public school sex education.

I am not familiar with American domestic politics, but all I can say as an outsider is that Bill Clinton was the greatest American President since Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It is time Americans realized that whomever they choose as president affects not only the fortunes of Americans, but those of the whole wide world. It is now a global village, so Americans should take note when next they go to the polls. Voting for mafia and gangsters will do no one any good. A bit of intellectualism and lots of common sense are essential prerequisites for this job.

My, my, my such venom! Although it is nearly impossible to assess, evaluate and account a presidency when so little time has passed, clearly the Clinton years were far more optimistic than the Bush years have been thus far. With some exceptions (Yugoslavia) the Clinton administration inspired confidence and good will. So when Bill travels abroad, hoards of people come out to greet him. When Bush ventures out of the country. the demonstrators are kept blocks away.

Along with all the other great answers here, since leaving the White House, Clinton:
* Donated 10,000 pediatric doses of antiretroviral (ART) drugs to children suffering from AIDS in India
* Teamed up with George H. W. Bush to help the tsunami victims of '05
* Has worked toward affordable housing in Philadelphia
And much more. The man has become a philanthropist. Why is it I don't see someone like Dick "Halliburton" Cheney doing similarly once his term is up?

1. Clinton's term brought about a balanced budget.

2. Clinton gave the US military the highest pay raise in the history of the country (that still stands today).

3. Clinton's term brought about a budget surplus (the first budget surplus in over 50 years)

4. Despite his personal shenanigans, he is still one of the most respected and accomplished presidents in the history of the US.

1. Revived the cigar industry.
2. Gave a well needed shot in the arm to the Dry Cleaners.
3. Gave the comedians of the world a well needed rest.... they didn't have to work too hard to find material.

"Its the economy stupid." http://www.uuforum.org/deficit.htm If you click the above link you will see that if Clinton did nothing else, this economic record surpasses all other Presidents combined. When all Republicans Reagan, Bush, and disastrously so Dubbya keep driving us into debt, Clinton got us out of it better than any of his predecessors, and there was no war economy to drive it.

No. He never did anything good for anybody but him, hillery, and a few of his comrades.
He DID;
1-Give the Chinese everything the communists needed to be able to drop a nuclear bomb on our heads. That's high treason!
2-Try his damnedest to disarm the people so we couldn't fight the socialist/communist takeover of America.
3- Create his dumbing down of America/communist indoctrination education system run by his favorite femiNazis.
4- Soil the office of Presidency a whole lot more than most people know.
5-Made our military the weak and toothless.
6-Ignored terrorist threats and didn't tell Bush of what he knew was coming (9/11).
7-Signed NAFTA so businesses would start flocking out of the country for cheap labor and letting in the current flood of Mexillegals and others purposely timed to happen after he was out of office.
Need I go on? That's just a small sample. And hillery is the third incarnation of the Anti-Christ!!!
