Bring a book, newspaper, crossword puzzle, knitting, something anything, that will keep you from being to bored, and a bottle of water for when you're thirtsty part of the jury duty process is waiting to see if you are goign to be called.
More and more public buildings such as courts do not allow you to bring in cell phone.

Take a good book and something to do in case you have to sit there all day. And get their EARLY so you are on one of the first rolls called so hopefully you either get excused early or get picked right away.
Sitting in the jury room all day stinks.

All the above advice is good. Depends on whether you want to serve or not. . .It's an interesting experience. Have you ever seen a jury of your peers. You will be amazed.

Yes, take a book (or 2 or 3). You will spend many hours just sitting around, doing nothing. And after several hours, you still may not be chosen for a case afterall !

Bring something to occupy your time (book, gameboy/psp, crossword, newspaper, etc). Remove uncessary metal out of your belongings. It slows down the amount of time going through the metal detector. Also, cellphones are okay to bring in, but not ones that have a camera option.
