why does everyone say galactus? is it cuz his really big and jean cant lift him or do anything to him. is he imortal?

Onslaught hands down! Jean is good, but she's vulnerable to that thing called love...and as Phoenix, she can't control herself...so that's not good, she can burn herself out. If you talk about all the Marvel characters...don't overlook Ultimate Spiderman, or the Incredible Hulk...Wolverine can beat Juggernaut...just take off his dumb outfit and Juggernaut is like everyone else. Can't forget Franklin Richards...who can beat Onslaught. His psychic powers and reality warping are pretty impressive. You can't forget Galactus...SIlver Surfer was his sidekick...on a good day, Galactus is nearly impossible to beat. Unless he's hungry and can't find any planets to eat. Silver Surfer has been beaten by a few people before...but I can't recall off hand who they were.

To answer your question about the Silver Surfer, he is Norrin Radd, an alien humanoid who is an astronomer from the planet Zenn-La. He was recruited by Galactus to serve as his Herald, and scout for planets for Galactus to "consume". Silver Surfer did this in exchange for sparing his homeworld from Galactus. Silver Surfer was endowed with a silvery substance to protect him from the rigors and pressures of space, and given a surfboard of sorts to traverse the spaceways.
Silver Surfer would have a good battle against Phoenix, but, ultimately, she would win.
Regarding the most powerful character of the X-Men, Phoenix would rank up there, followed by Xavier and Magneto.

That depends on what type of power your talking about. In the physical department nothing can stop the Juggernaut. Mentally Prof. X is stronger in telepathy but I'll give Jean the edge for her telepathy and T.K. There's also the Scarlett Witch her power affects the probability of any outcome and she can't control her power. Let's not forget the forces of nature Storm, Magneto, and a guy that I don't think has made an X-appearence Graviton (guess what he controls) there's also that chick from "X-Men Unlimited #1" Seinna Blaze she controls the Earth's EM field.

Phoenix definitely. No, the Silver Surfer does not stand a chance. Phoenix is able to defeat a weak/hungry Galactus(surfer's creator), but not at his full might.

I think Iceman is the most powerful X-man if mental powers are not used. Magneto can hit you with a metal pipe or manipulate the iron in your blood, but Iceman can freeze the water in your body killing you nearly instantly, if he turned evil of course. Though I suppose Colosus in metal form or Emma Frost in diamond form could be safe from this. Keep in mind, however, that Iceman is pretty much indistructable in ice form. If he gets smashed to pieces (like when Colosus ran him over in the Age of Apocolypes storyline) he can eventually gather himself up Terminator 2 style (I may be wrong about this). His problem has always been not living up to his amazing potential.

Jean is probably the most powerful. Even if she is beaten and killed, the phoenix force inside would revive her eventually.

in the movie you get wolverine going against jean gray which is ****. I think jean gray is good but so is Gladiator and so is Rogue. Maybe someone totally new

I think it's Rogue?? Think that's how the name is spelt. She can simply touch you and suck your power and use as her own. Scary isn't it? Wasn't magnito trying to capture her in the first episode? If I remember correctly.

well if you can see...they have lots of powers...
to choose the most powerful one is really hard...
phoenix is pretty strong but she lose with logan....
logan has the ability to heal himself and a highly self defense...
although he seems not powerful...
he is the one who can live longer than others....
